Year 4 Roman Experience

Today, Year 4 have had an amazing day learning all about the Romans.  The morning was spent learning about the different types of soldiers in the army and the different armour and weapons that were available to them.  The children then went on to have the opportunity to try on different armour and jewellery as well as look at lots of different artefacts, including cooking pots and tools they used.  During the day, the children learnt more about what artefacts they had explored and how they were used in Roman times.

The climax of the day was being part of the Roman army where the children were taught Roman fighting techniques and how the Roman's defended when being attacked using the turtle formation.

Please see below photographs from the day. As you can see, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
