Year 2 Derby Museum Trip 2026
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their recent trip to Derby Museum as part of our history topic on Florence Nightingale.
The children were able to show off what they already knew about this significant figure from history and they learnt many more interesting facts.
The children dressed up as soldiers, cleaned the museum dressed as nurses, and even made medicine using traditional pill making equipment.
They also got chance to make their own nursing medal to take home with them. There was also time to explore the rest of museum and the children really enjoyed seeing the mummies, stroking the taxidermy badger and standing to attention in the sentry box.
Entry to the museum is free, so you can head over during the Easter holiday and explore.
